Challenging times ahead predicted for the housing industry
TristoneNash are committed to servicing the needs of all our clients and in doing so recognise the challenges of social-economic problems which face the different sectors within the housing industry.
The Guardian have discussed the topic of the housing crisis, noting how the cost-of-living crisis is having a direct effect on people’s ability to afford housing loans and consequently effecting the demand for houses.
The Guardian note how “Britain’s biggest housebuilder has warned that conditions will “continue to be difficult” for the housing industry over the coming months as potential buyers struggle with the rising cost of home loans.” They also discuss how this may as a result cause a problem for the availability of houses in the future, saying “[m]any economists and some ministers agree that the UK housing industry is not building enough homes to meet longer-term demand, which has sustained house prices near record levels even with economic growth faltering. Average house prices fell by 5.3% in the year to August to about £259,000, according to Nationwide building society.”
